Biography

Jundong Li is an Assistant Professor at the University of Virginia with appointments in Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Department of Computer Science, and School of Data Science. Prior to joining UVA, he received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science at Arizona State University in 2019 under the supervision of Dr. Huan Liu, M.Sc. degree in Computer Science at University of Alberta in 2014, and B.Eng. degree in Software Engineering at Zhejiang University in 2012. His research interests are broadly in data mining and machine learning, with a particular focus on feature learning, graph mining, and social computing.

I am actively looking for 1-2 self-motivated Ph.D. students (fully funded) to join my group in Spring 2022 or Fall 2022 semester. Please drop me an email with your CV and transcripts if you are interested.

  • 2021/04: Awarded UVA 3Cavaliers Seed Grant for the project “Understanding Causality in Complex Systems via Network Guided Causal Inference” as PI ($60,000, 5/1/2021 - 10/31/2022).
