Background:
Scott Barker received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia in 1994, his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering in 1996 and 1999, respectively, both from the University of Michigan. He was a staff scientist at the Naval Research Laboratory from 1999 to 2000 before coming to the University of Virginia in December 2000 where he is an associate professor. He is on the technical committee for RF-MEMS and micromachining for the Microwave Theory and Techniques Society of the IEEE. In 2000 he received the Microwave Prize for best paper of the year.
