Summary:

Ronald Williams performs research in computer engineering. His research interests include computer system design for embedded systems, parallel computing, digital-analog hybrids, hardware-software codesign and computer security. Typically, his research is application-driven, with past applications in signal processing, control, and biomedical devices.


Background:

Ronald Williams received the Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from M.I.T. in 1984. He also holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia granted in 1977 and 1978, respectively. Dr. Williams has served on the faculty since 1985. He received an All-University Teaching Award in 1990. For the IEEE Computer Society, he has served two terms as a vice president and five years as a member of the board of governors. He is a senior member of IEEE.
